The Full Story
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have had a desire to help others in some capacity since I was young. I went to San Diego State University for my bachelor's in Psychology and minor in Business Administration. I continued on to get my Masters in Clinical Psychology Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University.
My clinical experience includes working for a university as a therapist in the wellness center, a school setting for adolescents with behavioral issues, and in private practice working with various clientele. I have worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families ranging from ages 5 to 65. I have counseled client’s with various presenting problems including abuse, addiction, anxiety, crisis, depression, grief and loss, mood disorders, family dynamics, relational issues, stress, self-image, substance abuse, and life transitions. I incorporate Christian faith-based practices for those who desire and have experience working with clients with a variety of religious backgrounds.
My approach is more eclectic using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Family Systems, and Solution Focused Therapy. I am trained in Level 1 Gottman Therapy and Play Therapy.
I grew up in San Diego and moved to Huntington Beach for grad school. I enjoy playing sports from soccer and beach volleyball to water polo and swim. Some of my favorite things to do include spending time outside whether it is hiking, being in the mountains, taking a stroll through the park, or going to the beach; as well as volunteering at our church with youth ministry. I love traveling with my family and love my role as a wife, mother, and therapist.
I would love to chat with you a little more and schedule a time for us to meet. Please give me a call or send an email. I look forwarding to speaking with you!
